
Bernard Hull Tenor

Australian tenor and composer Bernard Hull has performed many leading
roles in commercial music theatre and opera. His career has,
so far, spanned more than twenty years.
A member of the original Australian cast of The Phantom of the
Opera, Bernard spent a total of around five years touring Australia,
New Zealand,
Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong performing around 2,000 shows in
ten different roles, including Giles André, Ubaldo Piangi, Monsieur Réyér
and The Auctioneer. He also toured Australia and New Zealand in Lloyd
Webber’s Cats as 'Gus the Theatre Cat, Bustopher Jones
and Growl Tiger.
Bernard has performed many principal roles for major opera companies
throughout Australia and in New Zealand. His credits include:
the title roles in Rossini’s Count Ory and Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann
as well as Orpheus in Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, B.F. Pinkerton
in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Tybalt in Gounod’s Roméo
et Juliette and. most recently, Ismaele in Verdi’s Nabucco
for Opera Queensland.
Bernard’s has written more than 50 songs and has produced five
recordings: “Theatrix – on the stage” - an album
of theatre derived (or inspired) songs; “Christmas Joy” – a
blend of traditional and original carols; a double CD of his original
musical “Jesus-Messiah”; and two albums of his unique,
original Gospel music, “The Lord’s House” and “Risen”.
