MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Olivia graduated from the Flinders Street School of Music with a Bachelor of Performance in Piano, an Advanced Diploma in Accompanying and a Certificate in Violoncello. She holds a Graduate Diploma in International Relations and is currently completing a Bachelor of Theology through the University of South Africa.

As a pianist Olivia has performed with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, performed the Gershwin Piano Concerto in F with a specially selected Orchestra, was invited to perform in the Australian Premiere ‘Grand Rites’ concert and has premiered several composers new works.

Locally Olivia has performed in the Government House, the Space Theatre, the Adelaide Town Hall, Capri Theatre, Pilgrim Church, Elder Hall and Ayers House. In the 2004 Fringe Festival performing in ‘Chosen Pieces’ at the Adelaide Cathedral.

During 2000-2003 Olivia lived and traveled throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa and Botswana where she taught, accompanied and performed with various individuals and ensembles.

In Gaborone, Botswana, Olivia accompanied African choirs and coached singers for the Opera Bravo series and Mafikeng convention.

As a Musical Director Olivia directed and produced the 1999 ‘Concerto Concert’ with a specially selected Adelaide Orchestra, show casing young artists performing with professionals conducted by Nicholas Milton.

During 1995-1999 Olivia created gospel choir ‘Soul Conviction’, who performed at numerous venues across Adelaide including the Adelaide Prisons, The Gov, Holy Trinity Church, and Her Majesty’s Theatre. During this time she toured them throughout rural South Australia.

In the 1996 and 1998 Fringe Festival Olivia created and directed sold out productions ‘Freedom Is Coming’ and ‘The Journey’ for Soul Conviction, both these productions were a collaboration of choral, film, theatre and instrumental music.

In 2003 Olivia directed African students from the Royal Academy of Gaborone in a National Drama and Acting Seminar.

Olivia is currently a freelance pianist, accompanist and teacher.
